All kinds of pop tarts7/25/2023 ![]() It’s tender and mild just like the infant Christ. It’s like a hot bowl of canned soup or a meal from a cheap breakfast place. ![]() True Neutral: Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamonīehold: the world’s okay-ist Pop-Tart. ![]() It’s standard, it follows the rules of making something sort of look and taste like it’s “Cookies and Cream”. It’s not Chocolate Chip Cookie-Dough, but it’s a nice attempt at making a toaster pastry taste like an Oreo. Lawful Neutral: Cookies & CreamĪnother example of a decent dessert-inspired Pop-Tart. We don’t exactly know what it is, but we love the mystery of Wild! Berry. The Panic! At the Disco of the mediocre American pastry world, the Wild! Berry Pop-Tart takes the toaster strudel for being solid chaotic good. What flavor is this? What does wild berry even mean? And it’s not just wild berry. I like to think that the guy who designed that one pattern on bowling ally consessions stand cups was also asked to design the carpet in charter busses and then finally asked to decorate the Wild! Berry Pop-Tart. It is the junior prom, the 21st birthday, the good Spotify playlist of dessert-flavored Poptarts. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is the exception to this. The hype is all there but once it actually happens you’re still kind of left wondering if you missed something. It’s kind of like senior prom or your 18th birthday. I believe that 99% of the time when Kellogg’s tries to release a new dessert-flavored Pop-Tart we end up with another 200 calorie disappointment that just looked really good on the box. Neutral Good: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Is there really any Pop-Tart more standard and delicious than Frosted Cherry? Cherry is such a tame, universally well-liked flavor you just have to love it. While this list is non-exhaustive, here is my ranking of different Pop-Tarts using the D&D Moral Alignment Scale. In fact I like most Pop-Tarts, but just like everything else in life there are some that are better than others in both flavor and morality.

Macro counting results7/25/2023 ![]() So, if we’ve got strength or aesthetic goals, muscles are important–and it’s hard to build the muscles that firm up our shape without eating enough protein. ![]() Muscles are also, of course, what we hope to GROW if we’re eating in a surplus–rather than just love handles! They also help our bodies burn more fat around the clock, thereby creating a higher resting metabolic rate and higher total daily energy expenditure–which is a long way of saying: more muscle means more food! Those firm new curves can’t be stolen in a weekend. An indulgent weekend, followed by a tip in the scale, and it can feel like all the work has been undone! But with muscle GROWTH, there are so many more changes going on than just the shedding of scale/water weight. Hanging on to a new, thinner frame is so SLIPPERY when you’re not actually doing anything to change your body composition. Proteins are the building blocks of our muscles, and muscles are what make our bodies look strong and lovely once we shed the fat we’d hoped to–rather than just being a smaller version of the same shape we’ve been frustrated with. So, why not just count calories? MACROS 101: PROTEINįirst let’s talk about protein. If you’re trying to build muscle, you’d eat slightly OVER what you burn each day. If your goal is to maintain, you’d ideally be eating just about what you burn each day. While trying to lose body fat you’ll want to be in a caloric “deficit,” meaning that you’re eating less than your body burns each day. Really, it’s just a step beyond counting your calories, which, I’ll confess I had never done a day in my life, before I decided to dive head first into this.Ĭalories are still king and having them in the right place for your goals is going to be the most important part of the formula. Tracking or counting your macros just means you’re counting (with the help of a food-logging app like My Fitness Pal) how many grams of those macronutrients you get in a day. SO WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO COUNT MACROS? When your’e counting macros, you’re counting each gram of those nutrients. You’re right, but you’re also going to get some carbs from the veggies, a little fat and carbs in the chicken etc. ![]() You might look at this sandwich and recognize you’re eating carbs in the bun, protein in the buffalo chicken, and fat in the avocado. So whether you count them or not, you are definitely EATING macros. It refers to your fats, carbs, and proteins. The term “macros” is short for macronutrients. But, if you’ve been curious about how it all works, here’s my Macros 101 to get you started. Macro-tracking might not be for everyone. A few years ago, I learned about counting macros and while at first I was skeptical, after learning more about the concept behind counting macros, and experiencing some exciting results, I was converted. But I also love feeling healthy and strong. Macros 101: A rough explanation from a food-loving, macro-counter
